SUNDAY: Dayparty with DJ collective STEP-TO + Live Music @ Sundown with Marouf Majidi
STEP-TO COLLECTIVE: Five London-based DJs who put on nights in Cambridge, London and Leeds, with radio shows and appearances on AAJA, Subtle Radio (LDN), Halfmoon BK (NYC), Sable Radio (Leeds), Internet Public Radio (Mexico).
Their new cross-genre club events spotlight local talent, with DJs, artists, and interactive performers, focusing on creating a welcoming and un-self conscious space for people to dance.
MAROUF MAJIDI, LIVE MUSIC AT SUNDOWN: A very special live acoustic set with Finnish-Iranian Kurd master musician and composer Marouf Majidi. Born in Sanandaj, a small city in Iran, from a Kurdish father and a Turkish speaking mothe, a traditional lament singer. Expect a blending of traditional, folk, and jazz sounds from across Turkey, North Africa, Iran, and Finland in this intimate closing set.
GETTING HERE: We’re just 5 mins walk from Canning Town station (Jubilee Line and DLR) or a little over 10 mins from Custom House (Elizabeth Line and DLR). Or take the Emirates Air Line to Royal Docks and we’re just 8 mins down the road.
ACCESSIBILITY: Our ground floor cafe-bar is fully accessible and will relay all the music from upstairs. But sadly, our upstairs show space is not yet fully accessible. Please get in touch if you have any access needs and we will do everything we can to accommodate.
