bloom

Interactive collaborative game (Twine and Zoom)
“The piece I’ve made is called bloom. It’s a short game for 3-5 people to play together online, and invites them to collaboratively build a forest. I was struck by something the director said in an interview I listened to, where he talked about how much joy they had found in dreaming up, imagining and creating their forest. I wondered if there was a way to take that experience and open it up for others. I’m interested in how technology shapes how we perceive of, and engage with, narrative. In particular how the transmedia, networked and hyperlinked structures of the internet mean that stories can be distributed and plural and shifting. I like to use technologies to create structures/vessels for people to engage with, but gives them freedom and agency to make and shape their experience to what they want. The flexibilities and adaptabilities in tech really excite me.”
